Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer....

Hello everyone

Today's post is my entry for the Craft Barn's alpha/dictionary challenge.  The letter for this challenge is 'D' and I have chosen to feature daisies.

Now while I have lots of flower dies, none of them were really very daisy-like (other than the flowers I featured in the last challenge when I chose garden as my topic).  I didn't want to repeat the flowers and so I though about illustrating daisies in a different way.

I'm quite intrigued by zentangle and so I decided to use zentangle techniques for my tag.  Of course I couldn't leave my die cuts behind entirely, and I made a stencil to draw round for the lettering and a label die for the mini-tag.  I had a few practice daisies and then I was off!  I really enjoyed playing with these patterns and I will definitely try some more on my cards.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Anne

  1. A sweet daisy tag. Love all the cute garden critters/insects you included with your daisys. This does look like a fun way to play around with zentangling.

    1. Hi Annie - thank you for your comments. I have a zentangle workbook by Suzanne McNeill which is really instructive, and then I saw a book by her called Floribunda Basics, which turns all sorts of doodling into flower zentangle. She's really inspiring. Best wishes Anne

  4. I realize I'm late visiting and the Craft Barn has already announced their next letter, but I vowed to visit everyone and even though I'm late, I'm here now. I am SO sorry I wasn't able to visit sooner, since I always look forward to seeing what you create.

I really adored how you took us through the steps you used to create this gorgeous tag. Although zentangles hurt my hand because I seem to hold the pen/pencil too tight, I simply adore what you did. I love that you even created your own stencil for this. It is amazing.
